The Sacramento Chapter of the Mexican American Golf Association is a
non-profit organization promoting recreational and competive golf
in the Sacramento, Northern Califorina, region. We also strive to
help our community through volunteer efforts and scholarships.
The Sacramento Chapter is affilliated with the Northern California Golf Association,
NCGA, which in turn is affilliated with the United States Golf Association,
USGA.
Membership is open to all members of the greater Sacarmento community
regardless of ethnic, racial, or economic backgrounds. We currently have
just over 150 members in our MAGA Chapter ranging from Juniors to Seniors.

The Sacramento Chapter hosts tournaments each month at various golf courses in Northern
California. In addition, we host several family oriented outings each
year for our members.
Sacramento MAGA - A Historical Perspective
Chartered 1968
In 1968, fourten men joined together to form the Sacramento Chapter of
the Mexican American Golf Association. A meeting was called to form
an Executive Board and a Board of Directors in preparation for the
chartering. It was decided they would have a Golf Tournament and
Dinner on the day the State Officers were scheduled to arrive.
Arrangements were made to have the golf tournament and dinner at
the Sunset Whitney Country Club. The Sacramento Chapter of the Mexican
American Golf Association was chartered On August 24, 1968.
